- When supplying copy or text be sure it is concise and easy
to read. It should be clearly written if by hand or set by typewriter. Preferably we like
to have it supplied on disc or e-mailed.
- Consider doing all your print work with one printer. They'll
be better able to ensure consistency of colours and style and in most cases you'll get
better prices because of the larger volume of work.
- When receiving proofs for print work always check the
following: Address, Phone/Fax numbers, E-mail, Text, etc… Many a job has been
reprinted at the customers expense because of simple mistakes. When you sign off on a proof
you're giving the printer the OK to print, so be sure it's ready to go!
- If you want something printed in a certain style, supply
samples of what that style looks like. The design process of a print job can be costly so
be sure you and the designer are on the same wavelength.
- When supplying photos or images for reprint be sure they
are sharp and clearly recognizable. Materials over the fax or photocopied photos will
reproduce poorly. Whenever possible supply originals.
- If supplying your logo, make sure it is clean and sharp
and preferably in around 6" to 8" in size. Be sure to supply the proper pms
colours if you're supplying your logo in its black & white format.
- Never reprint a photo, logo or information from another
source unless you have written permission to do so from the original owner of the material.
Copyright infringement can be very costly to you or your company.
